After the arrest of UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and party leader and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, different views have been made public by the Nepali Congress. After the party's institutional view and separate statements from party leaders regarding the same incident, a division in political views has been seen within the Nepali Congress.

In an institutional statement issued by spokesperson Devraj Chalise, it is stated that the Nepali Congress has been steadfast in its support for a fair, transparent and legal investigation into the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082 from the beginning. The statement expressed dissatisfaction that the government has not made public the report of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led inquiry commission formed to investigate those incidents in a legal manner.

The establishment side stated that although the commission covered the incidents of Bhadra 23 in detail, it did not adequately look into the arson, destruction and damage that occurred on 24, stating that the report was incomplete and one-sided. In addition, the Nepali Congress has warned that the government's 'selective' decision and hasty arrests based on a single report may be against the rule of law. The statement states that whoever was involved in the incidents on both days should be investigated, prosecuted and taken action according to the legal process.

However, Deuba-led leaders have taken a different tone on the issue. In a statement issued under the signature of former acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka, the arrest of Oli and the writer has been termed as political revenge. The statement accused the government of arresting and illegally detaining two top leaders based on political bias and demanded their immediate release.

The Deuba side has claimed that the steps taken without completing the legal process in the name of implementing the recommendations of the inquiry commission are against the constitution and prevailing laws. The statement also states that the style of action taken against the opposition and opposition leaders immediately after the formation of the government has raised questions about democratic values and the culture of political consensus.

Although both statements share a common view that an investigation into the incidents of Bhadra 23-24 is necessary, there is a clear difference in priorities and political interpretation. The establishment side has emphasized legal process, fair investigation, and judicial process, while the Deuba side has interpreted the arrest as a politically motivated move, sending a strong political message against the government.
