Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Sobita Gautam will become the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs in the Balendra Shah-led government. Kantipur had confirmed that she would become a minister through sources close to the Prime Minister and Sobita's family.
She is also an advocate who is knowledgeable in law. Gautam was previously elected from Kathmandu-2 in the 2079 elections.
In this election, she contested from Chitwan-3, where she defeated former Bharatpur mayor Renu Dahal. She received 59,277 votes.
Born in Ashar, 2052, Sobita has a bachelor's degree in law. She had gone to the voters saying that her education and experience would be suitable for this position as it is a place where MPs make policy and rules.
