Balendra Shah has taken the oath of office as Prime Minister.

President Ram Chandra Poudel administered the oath to him at the oath-taking ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas. 

He took the oath of office and secrecy at the predetermined time of 12:34. This time the oath-taking ceremony looked different. 

Seven conch shells were blown during the oath-taking. Similarly, 108 people recited Swasti Shanti from a batuk, and 16 Buddhist monks recited Ashtamangala.

Balendra Shah takes oath as Prime Minister Five former prime ministers participated in the oath-taking ceremony. Former prime ministers Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Baburam Bhattarai and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khilraj Regmi attended the oath-taking ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas.

Former prime minister and UML chairman KP Sharma Oli did not attend.
