The Nepali Communist Party has stated that it will remain in the role of a responsible opposition. Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal have issued an inter-party directive stating that they will pay serious attention to the activities of the parliament and the government.

‘This election was held in unusual circumstances. This election, which was held against the backdrop of various speculations, suspicions, uncertainties and conspiracies, has put democracy on the line again. We need to pay serious attention to the impact of the votes received by political parties in the election, the role played by political parties in parliament and the work of the new government on the nation and national politics,’ the NCP has said. ‘Our party will play the constructive role of a responsible opposition as per the will of the voters.’

After the unification of the NCP, the party organization was not yet complete and the election was held. It has admitted that it was not able to establish the party’s ideology, policies, programs and election symbols among the people.

‘There was not enough time to overcome the political confusion seen after the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 and the misleading and negative propaganda spread in the media sector,’ the NCP has analyzed. ‘For various reasons, the situation did not become favorable for us and the results we expected did not come.’

The NCP has congratulated the elected candidates and wished them success.
