About 60 percent of the votes were cast in the House of Representatives elections. The vote count for the proportional representation system on Wednesday showed that about 60 percent of the votes were cast. Election Commission Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut said that 59.84 percent of the votes were cast when the vote count for the proportional representation system was completed.
While the commission had stated that 58 percent of the votes were cast on the evening of voting on 21 Falgun. 'Initially, the details from the police were made public. The commission has stated that more than five percent of the votes were invalid in the direct election.
There is a legal provision that political parties that cut 3 percent of the valid votes are entitled to seats in the proportional representation. In this way, the parties that get more than 326,000 votes will get seats this time. The parties that will get seats in this way are the National Swatantra Party (NSWP), Congress, UML, Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Shram Sanskriti Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
The commission has made public the details of 1830,815 votes as of Wednesday night. The authentic details of 18,267 votes that have been counted are yet to be uploaded. After receiving the final authentic details, the commission had prepared to send a letter to the parties on Tuesday itself to distribute the seats and send the names of the candidates to be elected according to the order of the closed list, adjusting the number of inclusive groups and women. However, Secretary Raut said that due to the delay in receiving the authentic details of the vote counting and the census in the district, it was not possible to send a letter to the parties.
After receiving the final details, the political parties that have crossed the 3 percent 'threshold' will be distributed and letters will be sent to them. Secretary Raut said that even though all the vote counting for the proportional representation has been completed, the seat distribution could not be done as the authentic details of the vote counting for 10 constituencies are yet to be received. An official working in the proportional representation election officer's office of the commission said that according to the results so far, the RSP is likely to get 57 seats, the Congress 20, the UML 16, the NCP 9, the Shram Sanskriti 4 and the RPP 4. However, he mentioned that one or two seats may go up or down after the final results.
