Leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has claimed that the Nepali Congress is not about to be destroyed but is now on the path to recovery. Speaking to media persons after an introductory program between newly elected members and incumbent members of the party in the National Assembly on Wednesday, Sitaula claimed that the party is now on the path to recovery.

'The Congress has not gone down the path of destruction, but has now started the path of awakening. Even if we look at the events of past history, we have not suffered such unexpected consequences. There is no need for Nepali Congress leaders, cadres and well-wishers who believe in democracy to panic,' he said.

He also said that the time has come to think in a new way, to form new perspectives and ideas in the new situation. 'We will restructure the party in a new way and there will be serious discussions on this issue,' he said.

He said that there is a need to transform the party according to the changed situation. Making it clear that they do not consider a special general convention appropriate yet, he expressed his desire for the verdict on the case pending in the Supreme Court to come soon.
