With the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) winning 10 out of 16 seats in the province, there has been a major change in the political power equation in the Far West.

The National Independent Party (NIP) has won 10 constituencies in the Far West, which were being won by Congress, UML and the then CPN-Maoist in turn. The NIP, which had a 'clean sweep' of the districts in the remote Terai, found it difficult to compete in the hills. Despite winning 2 seats in the hills, the traditional parties dominated the other 6 seats. The Congress and UML, which had lost out in the Terai, managed to survive by winning the hill districts.
The NIP won five constituencies in Kailali and three in Kanchanpur. The Congress had won one-sided victories in the Far West in the first general elections of 2015 and 2049. The UML had won single-handedly in 2051. There were mixed results in 2056. In the first Constituent Assembly election of 2064 BS, the Congress and the UML had to struggle to maintain their credibility during the then CPN-Maoist wave. In 2070, 2074, 2079, the alliance between traditional parties did not result in favor of one party in the province. In 2079, the Civil Liberation Party won three out of five constituencies in Kailali.
This time, RSVP candidate Komal Gyawali won in Kailali-1, overcoming dissatisfaction within the party. She is the only woman to win directly from the Far West this time. She won by a margin of 4,959 votes over her nearest rival Janakraj Chaudhary of the Congress.
Gyawali got 17,826 votes while Chaudhary got 12,867 votes. In third place, Ramlal Dagaura Tharu of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) got 8,392 votes, while Dwarika Prasad Neupane of the Nepal Communist Party (UML) got 4,493 votes.
KP Khanal of the Nepali Congress Party (NCP) won in Kailali-2. He defeated his opponent by a margin of 7,108 votes. Khanal received 19,057 votes. His nearest rival, Patiram Chaudhary of the Civil Liberation Party of Nepal (CPN), got 11,949 votes. Surya Bahadur Thapa of the UML came in third place with 7,886 votes. Bijay Bahadur Swar of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), who was considered a contender for victory, got 7,213 votes, while Nanda Bahadur Saud of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) got 4,369 votes. Out of 107,057 voters in this constituency, 56,770 votes were cast.
Jagat Bahadur Joshi of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) won in Kailali-3. He defeated his nearest rival Birman Chaudhary of the Nepali Communist Party by a margin of 8,376 votes. Joshi got 20,359 votes while Chaudhary got 11,983 votes. The RSSP wave continued in Kailali-4 as well. RSSP candidate Khemraj Koirala won from this constituency by getting 17,255 votes more than the nearest Congress candidate Gorakh Bahadur Bista. Koirala got 28,556 votes while Bista got 11,301 votes.
The voters of Kailali-5, considered a remote political center, appeared unstable this time too. RSSP's Ananda Bahadur Chand won from here by 31,953 votes. Chand defeated influential Congress leader Nar Narayan Shah by a margin of almost 20,000 votes. Shah received only 11,958 votes. Prem Bahadur Ale of the Nepali Communist Party received only 7,886 votes. Prem Ale, known as an influential leader in the politics of the Far West, had won the House of Representatives election from Doti three times in a row. Ale, who changed constituencies this time, came third.
Kanchanpur 'Bell'
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has won all three constituencies of Kanchanpur this time. According to the results released by the Election Commission, Janak Singh Thami of the RSS has won from Kanchanpur-1. He defeated Bina Magar of the NCP by a margin of 13,22 votes. Singh received 24,332 votes while Magar received 11,110 votes.
Deepak Raj Bohara of the RSS won from Kanchanpur-2. He defeated his nearest rival, Narayan Prakash Saund of the Nepali Congress by a margin of 23,125 votes. Bohara got 33,952 votes, while the defeated Saund got 10,827 votes. Gyanendra Singh Mahata of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) won from Kanchanpur-3. He defeated his nearest rival, Hari Prasad Bohara, of the Nepali Congress, by a margin of 17,675 votes. Mahata got 27,118 votes, while the defeated Bohara got only 9,443 votes.
Legacy also fell in Dadeldhura
Out of the 8 constituencies in the seven districts of the remote hills, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) managed to win only 2 constituencies. The remaining 6 constituencies were won by candidates from traditional parties. Dadeldhura Constituency No. 1, the base area of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, has always been a topic of discussion in Nepali politics.
Deuba, who has been at the center of power since 2048 BS by winning parliamentary elections from this constituency repeatedly, did not get a ticket this time. In his absence, the Rashtriya Swatantra Party's wave across the country has destroyed Dadeldhura's 34-year-old political legacy.
With the victory of Dr. Tara Prasad Joshi, the candidate of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, in the House of Representatives this time, there has been a major change in the political balance of power in Dadeldhura. Joshi not only made his way to parliament by defeating Nepali Congress candidate Nainsingh Mahar, but also created new history in Dadeldhura.
He defeated his nearest rival Mahar by a margin of 7,100 votes. While Joshi got 19,131 votes, the defeated Mahar was reduced to 12,121 votes. In Baitadi too, Rashtriya Swatantra Party candidate Harimohan Bhandari won, outpacing the main party. Bhandari won by defeating Congress's Chatur Bahadur Chand by a margin of 3,940 votes. He got 22,134 votes while the defeated Chand got 18,194 votes.

He got 18,543 votes while his rival Nepali Congress candidate Prakash Rasaili Snehi got 16,304 votes. The difference between Snehi and Mahar was 2,239 votes.
CPN-UML candidate Ganesh Singh Thagunna has also won in Darchula. Thagunna has set his path to parliament by defeating Congress candidate Dharmananda Joshi by a margin of 3,055 votes. He got 18,891 votes while the defeated Joshi got 15,836 votes. The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) could not win a single seat in the Far West. With the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) winning 10 out of 16 seats in the province, there has been a major change in the political power equation in the Far West.
