Buddhi Prasad Panta, a member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Parsa-1, has entered the parliamentary journey for the first time. Panta has secured 27,274 votes. His nearest rival, UML candidate Pradeep Yadav, secured 13,300 votes. Panta defeated Yadav by a margin of 14,244 votes and secured his seat in the HoR. Panta, 46, was born in Rautahat. Panta, a hotelier by profession, had been active in business and social activities in Birgunj for a few years. Panta was not in the news politically before. But with the rise of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, he became active in building the party organization in Parsa. Later, he became the Rastriya Swatantra Party Parsa District President and worked to strengthen the party organization in a short time.

Parsa-1 was previously contested by Congress, UML and Madhesh-centric parties. After winning, Pant has committed to working dedicatedly in the service of the people throughout his term.
