Niskal Rai of Nepali Congress has been elected to the House of Representatives from Ilam-1. Rai defeated Binod Nembang of Shram Sanskriti Party by 911 votes.

Rai got 14,543 votes while Limbu got 13,632 votes. UML's Kajiman Kagate came in third with 11,966 votes while Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)'s Bimal Gadal got 9,160 votes, according to the Election Commission.
