In the House of Representatives election 2082, Bharat Prasad Parajuli, the candidate of the National Independent Party (RIP), has won in Sindhupalchowk Constituency No. 1.

According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Parajuli defeated his nearest rival Madhav Sapkota of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) by securing 24,412 votes. Sapkota secured 17,327 votes. Parajuli won by a margin of 7,085 votes.

Similarly, CPN (UML) candidate Saresh Nepal secured third place by securing 11,961 votes, while Nepali Congress's Jung Bahadur Lama secured fourth place by securing 11,293 votes.

Parajuli, who had a lead since the beginning of the vote count, maintained that lead until the final result and secured victory.

  Who is Parajuli?

Parajuli, a permanent resident of Balefi Rural Municipality-6 in Sindhupalchowk, was born on 19 Bhadra 2025. He has studied up to the master's level. Known as an established personality in the professional field, he was previously associated with politics from a CPN (UML) background. Recently, he has entered active politics through the National Independent Party. Despite not having parliamentary experience, he is known as a person who has made a different identity due to his long experience and management skills in the private sector.

Parajuli is also the chairman of the 45 MW Brahmayani Hydropower Project under construction in Jugal Rural Municipality. As a new face, he contested the House of Representatives elections from Sindhupalchowk-1, prioritizing development, good governance and result-oriented politics. Earlier, in the 2079 BS House of Representatives elections, the then CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Madhav Sapkota was elected from the same constituency with 30,408 votes. He was supported by the Nepali Congress in that election.
