Nepali Communist Party candidate Gopal Sharma has won the Rukum West constituency in the House of Representatives election. He secured 21,609 votes, while his nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Raju KC, secured 16,661 votes. There is a difference of 4,948 votes between Sharma and KC. There are a total of 16,660 voters in Rukum West, which is the only constituency, and a total of 62,967 people participated in the vote. There were a total of 12 candidates from here. Janardan Sharma, the candidate of the Progressive Democratic Party (Pralopa), who had maintained a lead at the beginning of the vote count, came third. He has 14,346 votes. Sharma is a leader who has been winning from the former Maoists in all elections since 2064 BS. This time, his victory journey has taken a break.
UML candidate Nandaram Devkota and Ujjal Nepal Party candidate Narendra KC had practically deactivated their candidacies and supported Pralopa's Sharma. But UML's Devkota received 1,869 votes and Ujjal Nepal Party's KC received 84 votes. The Chief Electoral Officer's office has already issued a certificate to the winner Sharma after the voting was completed.
