Prashant Upreti of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has been elected from Makawanpur Constituency No. 2 in the House of Representatives election.
Upreti of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party was elected by defeating Mahesh Bartaula, who was elected from the same constituency in the 2079 election and became the UML's chief whip in the House of Representatives.
According to the results released by the Election Commission on Sunday morning, Upreti of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, who won, got 30,050 votes. Bartaula of the UML got 18,846 votes from this constituency.
Buddha Lama, the Congress candidate from this constituency, got 15,050 votes, while NCP's Lavasher Bista got 12,492 votes and finished fourth.
Here, Ujjaya Nepal's Prabin Kumar Syangtan got 6,236 votes.
