Narendra Kumar Kerung of Nepali Congress has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Panchthar. He was elected by defeating his nearest rival Hastraj Sherma of Shram Sanskriti Party by a margin of 2,499 votes.

Kerung got 17,233 votes while Sherma got 14,734 votes.

Aindra Sundar Nembang of UML secured third place with 14,234 votes and Harka Bahadur Nembang of Nepali Communist Party secured fourth place with 11,443 votes. The National Independent Party is limited to fifth place with 4,187 votes from here.

There were 15 candidates from 15 parties here. Kerung, who has been teaching and lecturing for a long time, was the Panchthar District President of Nepali Congress twice before. He was also elected as a central member from the recently concluded special general convention of Nepali Congress. He has completed his master's degree in management.
