Amar Kant Chaudhary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) has been elected in Saptari-3, defeating Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav. Chaudhary got 32,875 votes. Yadav could not even get 16,000 votes.
Yadav got 15,239 votes, while Dinesh Kumar Yadav of the Nepali Congress got 8,428 votes. Tara Kant Chaudhary of the CPN-UML got 6,715 votes, Sarendra Prasad Sharma of the Janmat Party got 2,869 votes, and Arun Kumar Sah of the Nepali Communist Party got 1,635 votes.
Chaudhary's father, the late Chandra Kant Chaudhary, who was active in politics from the then Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) Nepal in 2074, was elected as a member of the House of Representatives in the same year. At that time, his father Chandra Kant was elected by getting 22,584 votes.
Out of a total of 111,871 voters, 74,882 votes were cast, including 40,223 women and 34,659 men. Earlier, Pushpa Kumari Chaudhary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Sitaram Sah of the RSSS have been elected in Saptari-1 and 4, respectively.
