Sobita Gautam was elected from Chitwan-3 by securing 59,277 votes. Sobita received the votes in the vote counting that ended on Saturday. Sobita defeated her nearest rival, Nepali Communist Party candidate Renu Dahal, by a margin of 38,662 votes.
While Sobita secured 59,000 votes, Renu received only 20,615 votes. In Chitwan-3, Congress's Tek Prasad Gurung got 8,344 votes and UML's Shankar Thapaliya got 5,04 votes.
Sobita became an MP from Kathmandu-2 in the 2079 House of Representatives elections. She was elected by securing 15,229 votes in that election. This time, she has reached Chitwan-3 to contest the elections. Renu Dahal, who is also the daughter of former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, was the candidate from the NCP. Renu resigned from the post of mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City and became a candidate for the House of Representatives.
In the 2079 election, Bikram Pandey of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) was elected from Chitwan-3 by getting 35,060 votes. In this election, Deepak Thapa Magar, the RPP candidate, got only 1,226 votes.
According to the results so far, the second most votes in this election is Dr. Lekhjung Thapa of the RPP, elected from Rupandehi-3. He has received 58,814 votes.
