In Lamjung, Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) candidate Dharmaraj KC appears close to winning. With the counting of votes in 7 municipalities and Besisahar Municipality 1 to 6 of Lamjung, he is ahead by almost double the votes of his nearest rival.
Now the counting of votes from Besisahar Municipality 7 to 11 is left.
When 66,975 votes were counted, RSP candidate KC got 29,359 votes. Congress's Gam Prasad Gurung got 15,160 votes, UML's Prithvi Subba Gurung got 15,100 votes, and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) candidate Harijang Tamang got 3,054 votes. 2,200 votes were invalidated.
Out of a total of 137,124 voters in Lamjung, 76,631 votes were cast. Candidates from 11 political parties, including 1 independent, were in the fray in the election.
