The 37-year-old Pathak received 38,674 votes. His nearest rival, Rajendra Lingden of the RPP, received 17,294 votes.
Rajendra Ghimire of the Nepali Congress came third with 8,199 votes, while Hari Rajbanshi of the UML came fourth with 7,492 votes. In the past, the UML-RPP alliance had been in place in this constituency.
