In the latest vote count for Jhapa-5 under the House of Representatives election, Balendra Shah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has maintained his lead with 47,779 votes. His nearest competitor, KP Sharma Oli of the UML, has secured 12,699 votes. The Shram Sanskriti Party is in third place. Its candidate Samir Tamang has secured 7,535 votes. Mandhara Chimaria of the Nepali Congress has secured 1,318 votes, Ranjit Tamang of the Nepali Congress has secured 1,087 votes, and Laxmi Prasad Sangraula of the Nepali Congress has secured 1,211 votes. So far, 75,377 votes have been counted. Of these, 3,303 votes have been invalidated.
