RPP candidate Rabindra Mishra has suffered a third defeat from Kathmandu-1. He was reduced to the third vote in the House of Representatives election held on Thursday.

RPP's Ranju Darshana won in that constituency. He got 15,455 votes while his nearest rival Prabal Thapa of the Congress got 6,364 votes. Mishra, who is also the senior vice-president of the RPP, was limited to 3,972 votes. Similarly, UML's Mohan Raj Regmi got 1,618 votes.

Mishra has been contesting elections from this constituency continuously. In the 2074 election, he was defeated by Congress' Prakash Man Singh. While Singh got 10,936 votes, he got only 10,118 votes. Mishra was a candidate from Bibeksheel-Sajha at that time.

In the 2079 elections, RPP candidate Mishra narrowed the margin of votes considerably but could not win. Mishra, who contested again with Congress's Singh, was defeated by a slim margin of 132 votes. While Singh got 7,143 votes, Mishra was limited to 7,111 votes.
