With 8,000 votes left to be counted in Kathmandu constituency number 1, Rashtriya Swatantra Party's Ranju Neupane (Darshan) is close to victory. Kathmandu constituency number 1 has been viewed as a hot spot since the beginning.
Chief Election Officer Churaman Khadka said that only 13 polling stations are left to be counted. 'The counting of votes for 44 polling stations has been completed,' he said, 'We are preparing to complete it soon, the final results will be out within two hours at the most.'
So far, 23,227 votes have been counted, of which Darshan of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party has received 12,842 votes. Her competitor Prabal Thapa of the Nepali Congress has received 5,216 votes.
