Speaking to media persons after the voting, he expressed gratitude to both the bodies for their proactiveness in conducting the elections and for successfully moving the election process forward despite the adversities.

He said, "We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Election Commission and the government for the role played by them in conducting the elections on time." Stating that all political parties participated in the elections with enthusiasm despite various adversities, Thapa asserted that this highlighted the high commitment of Nepal's political parties and citizens to democracy.

Thapa said that the voting process is an important link in putting the constitution back on the right track. Speaking briefly to media persons after the voting, he said that the elections are essential for the political stability of the country.

Stating that the events of Bhadra 23 and 24 have added to the doubts and uncertainty about whether the constitution will be 'leaked', Thapa said, 'We all had fears and apprehensions that there would be uncertainty for a long time after the constitution was leaked. Therefore, this election was essential to bring the constitution back on track.'

He said that it is a good thing that the voting process has begun peacefully across the country amidst the doubts about whether the election will be held or not. He said that he is confident that the election will be held smoothly, given the enthusiasm of the citizens seen in the voting.
