The Election Commission has said that ballot boxes will be transported by helicopter from remote areas of 15 remote districts. Acting Chief Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari said in a press conference that the counting of votes will begin immediately after the completion of the polling process and the safe collection of the ballot boxes.
He said that the goal of transporting ballot boxes by helicopter is to return all ballot boxes from Taplejung, Rasuwa, Dolakha, Bajhang and Rukum (eastern part) to the respective counting centers today.
He said that ballot boxes from Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Gorkha and Rukum (western part), Manang and Bajura and Humla will be delivered to the respective counting centers by Friday morning.
He thanked the voters for participating in this celebration of representative democracy and completing the process of electing representatives through their voting rights, participating in the law-making and state-running processes, and participating in government-building and governance.
