A total of 58.56 percent of the votes were cast in the election for the post of member of the House of Representatives held on Thursday in Koshi Province. The Provincial Election Office has stated that 20 lakh 78 thousand 788 people out of 35 lakh 74 thousand 310 voters in the province voted. The Election Office has stated that the voting percentage is high in the Terai districts of Koshi Province. The data shows that the voting percentage is relatively low in the hilly districts. The highest voting rate among the districts of the province was recorded in Jhapa. Out of 7 lakh 13 thousand 537 voters in Jhapa, 4 lakh 56 thousand 964 votes were cast, representing a voting rate of 64.04 percent. Similarly, 64.56 percent of the votes were cast in Morang. Out of 7 lakh 83 thousand 50 voters in Morang, 5 lakh 5 thousand 514 people voted.
In Sunsari, 399,600 votes were cast out of 580,946 voters, or 63.62 percent.
In the hilly districts, the voting percentage was comparatively low. In Khotang, 63,35 votes were cast out of 147,120 voters, or 42.85 percent. In Okhaldhunga, 52,633 votes were cast out of 122,715 voters, or 42.89 percent.
In Taplejung, 46,402 votes were cast out of 90,327 voters, or 51.36 percent. In Panchthar, 71,170 votes were cast out of 143,488 voters, or 49.63 percent.
In Ilam, 132,214 votes were cast out of 231,809 voters, or 57.04 percent. In Sankhuwasabha, 63,600 votes were cast out of 119,630 voters, or 53.19 percent.
In Terhathum, 39,193 votes were cast out of 73,137 voters, or 53.59 percent. In Bhojpur, 58,69 votes were cast out of 125,766 voters, or 46.17 percent. In Dhankuta, 54,369 votes were cast out of 118,425 voters, or 45.91 percent.
In Solukhumbu, 41,401 votes were cast out of 85,515 voters, representing a 48.41 percent turnout, while in Udayapur, 1,24,590 votes were cast out of 238,926 voters, representing a 52.15 percent turnout.
