The RPP has supported the Congress candidate in Rupandehi Constituency No. 2. The RPP has stated that it will support Chunna Prasad Poudel in Rupandehi-2, saying that the agenda is close to that of the Congress in the economic, social and prosperity sectors of the country, while it does not have its own candidate.
RPP Rupandehi Constituency No. 2 Chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa has issued a press release calling for direct voting for the Nepali Congress candidate in Rupandehi-2.
‘Despite our differences in principles and ideology in this election, we are close to the Nepali Congress in the economic, social and prosperity of the country,’ he said in a press release. ‘At present, in order to keep the organization of RPP Rupandehi Constituency No. 2 united and to continue the political consensus by keeping in mind the context of debate and discussion on our issue, we inform the party ranks and the general public that we have decided to support the Nepali Congress candidate for this constituency, social worker and industrialist Chunna Prasad Sharma Poudel.’
RPP had received 5,600 votes in the proportional representation in this constituency in the 2079 election. 39 candidates are in the fray in this constituency, including Poudel from the Congress, Bishnu Poudel from the UML, Sulabh Kharel from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and Subhash (Bishwadeep) Pandey from the NCP.
