Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has said that if a majority government is formed by the Congress in this election, a powerful asset investigation commission will be formed to first investigate Sher Bahadur Deuba's assets and secondly, his personal assets.
He said this at an election rally organized in Kolhawi, Constituency No. 1 of Bara.
‘The assets of all those holding big positions after 2048 will be investigated and it will start from their own party,’ he said, ‘I have also become a minister, so mine should be too.’
After 2074, everyone’s attention should have been focused on development, not the Genji movement and the elections that were supposed to be held in 2084 are now underway, he said.
‘Before the Genji movement, the Genji movement happened because all the big parties were interested in toppling the government, sustaining it, and becoming the Prime Minister,’ he said, ‘Calling the Genji movement a conspiracy is an extremist thought. Blaming them even after the movement is an extremist thought. These actions were taken to add fuel and incitement after the movement.’
He said that the Congress would reject such a trend.
‘The Congress government is stopping Nepal’s food supply to India every year due to the fact that Rs 400 billion worth of food grains are being sent to India every year,’ he said, ‘Infrastructure that was built in 1-2 years takes 20 years. We will not let that happen now, we will build like a developed country.'
He said that the Congress will make everyone go together. Although Nepal has the capacity to provide employment to 500,000 people every year, only 50,000 people have been employed every year.
'The previous government could not even bring ready-made fertilizer from other countries, let alone open a fertilizer factory. The Congress will do all these things,' he said.
