Everything is broken, but we have come to build a new Nepal: Thapa

What you should know

Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the Congress has moved forward with a clear action plan to develop the country and maintain good governance.

Addressing an election rally held in Butwal on Friday, he presented the historical role of the Congress as the foundation of development.

He said, ‘We have come to develop the country and maintain good governance. The foundation for this is the old history of the Congress.’

Thapa sharply criticized coalition politics and said, ‘Coalition politics has made politics dirty. The Congress has come to clean up that dirt.’

Expressing the Congress’s commitment to adopt transparency and accountability in its work, Thapa informed that a detailed list of the work to be done will be made public on Baisakh 1. ‘On Baisakh 1, the Congress will prepare a list of the work to be done. We will review the work done on Jestha 1 and move forward with the plan for the next month,’ he said.

According to him, the Congress has entered the election fray with a nationwide plan including 6,743 ward chairmen. ‘In 5 years, the country will gain momentum, run, and run. Even though it is fast, we will run with understanding. We will take everyone along,’ Thapa claimed.

But I cannot do it alone. We have made preparations to unite everyone to create a new Nepal,’ he said.

Stressing on the need for necessary legal arrangements for the operation of Bhairahawa Airport, he said, ‘A law should be made for the operation of Bhairahawa Airport. The airport cannot run by scolding airlines.’

Similarly, claiming that there is a concrete plan from monkey control in the village to solving the problem of fertilizer in the Terai, he asked for an opportunity from the voters.

‘We have made a resolution, which we will complete in 5 years. Give us a chance to work. The Congress will take the responsibility of respecting your vote. Let’s not waste 5 years again,’ Thapa called.
