The Election Commission has decided to take action against two candidates and one political party for violating the election code of conduct. The Central Election Code of Conduct and Monitoring Committee has decided to fine Nepali Communist Party candidate Shakti Bahadur Basnet and independent candidate Dr. Nicholas Bhusal Rs. 25,000 each for violating the code of conduct. Similarly, it has decided to fine Shram Shakti Rs. 25,000 each. Speaking to News Agency Nepal on Thursday, Election Commissioner Sagun Shumsher Jabra, who is also the coordinator of the Central Election Code of Conduct and Monitoring Committee, informed that action has been taken against two candidates for the House of Representatives and one political party. The Commission has decided to impose a fine of Rs. 25,000 as action after the clarification sought regarding the violation of the code of conduct was not satisfactory.
