In the previous House of Representatives elections, the then President of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, had won from Dadeldhura with 25,534 votes. At that time, independent candidate Sagar Dhakal came second with 13,042 votes, while Karna Bahadur Malla of the Nepali Congress-BP was in second place with 7,535 votes. This time, the Nepali Congress-BP has not fielded a candidate from Dadeldhura.

Although it has not fielded a candidate, it is still conducting regular door-to-door campaigns like other parties. After the leaders and workers of the party, which has no candidate, have been meeting voters on a daily basis, the issue of whom the Nepali Congress-BP will support is being seen as a matter of interest in Dadeldhura.

This time, 13 candidates have been fielded from Dadeldhura. Nainsingh Mahar from the Congress, Mansingh Mal from the NCP, Tara Prasad Joshi from the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party, Chakra Prasad Snehi from the UML and Govinda Khadayat from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party are among the party and independent candidates in the fray.

According to the Congress BP, it is meeting voters and workers of various parties with the slogan 'What the people say, BP Congress will do'. The party has stated that it has received mixed reactions while interacting with thousands of voters including workers of various parties during the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Congress District Working Committee Dadeldhura has called on BP Congress to return to the Congress and support it. On Sunday, District President Bhim Bahadur Saud had called on leaders and workers, including the then President Karna Bahadur Malla, who were unable to attend the seventh district convention of Congress Dadeldhura, to return to the Congress and help Congress candidate Mahar win.

Following the Congress's call, BP Congress Dadeldhura issued a press release and stated that it took it positively. Congress Dadeldhura President Bhim Bahadur Saud said that he has requested the Central Committee to carry out the necessary discussions and processes for party unity.
