Raut, who was elected without an alliance, got 35,042 votes, while Yadav could get only 16,979 votes. Yadav, who lost the election from here, became a candidate from Bara-2 in the by-election held in 2080.
After Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, who won there, became the Vice President, a by-election was held for the vacant seat. Upendra, who contested the election by sending Ramsahay Prasad as the Vice President of the party, was supported by the then ruling coalition Congress and the then Maoist Center, CPN-S, and LSP.
Upendra, who won from there and entered parliament, has returned to Saptari once again. This time he is a candidate from Saptari-3. In the last election, Dinesh Kumar Yadav of the Congress, who contested with the support of the then ruling coalition, won by getting 26,166 votes. At that time, JSP Nepal supported UML candidate Tarakant Chaudhary.
While Chaudhary got 22,300 votes, Anish Ansari of the Janmat Party got 15,114 votes. Looking at the proportional votes here, the Janmat Party got the most votes. While Janmat got 18,340 votes, the Congress got 18,249 votes.

In 2074, Chandrakant Chaudhary was elected from the then RJP. At that time, when the Federal Socialist Forum led by Upendra and the RJP were in an alliance, Chaudhary got 22,484 votes. This time, Chandrakant's son Amarkant Chaudhary is also in the fray from the RSWP, while Tarakant, who was supported by JSP Nepal in the last election, is also a candidate. Tarakant is also Chandrakant's brother. Dinesh Kumar, who won the election in the last election, is a candidate this time too.
There are 22 candidates including Surendra Prasad Sharma from Janmat Party, Arun Kumar Sah from Nepali Communist Party, and Gajendra Kumar Mandal from Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal. There are a total of 111,871 voters in 41 wards of Shambhunath and Dakaneshwori municipalities and Rupani and Bishnupur rural municipalities. Among them, including LSP, JSP Nepal has won the most in 14 wards. Congress has won 12, Nepali Communist Party (NCP) 8 and UML 7 wards.
