This time in Saptari-4, a tug-of-war is underway between candidates to preserve and destroy the legacy of the previous election. There are 27 candidates in the fray, including political parties and independents.

They seem to be busy winning the hearts of voters through social media as well as door-to-door to turn the election results in their favor.

The old ones are running to maintain their hold, while the new ones are trying to break it. Tejulal Chaudhary, who was elected from the Congress for three consecutive terms from 2070 to 2079, is in the election race this time too. Chaudhary, who is contesting for the fourth time, is under pressure to protect his and the Congress's legacy. Like in the past, he is going door-to-door this time too, listening to the problems of the voters and giving assurances.

Choudhary, who was elected to the second Constituent Assembly, was elected in 2074 with 24,113 votes. Sitaram Sah, who has been supporting Choudhary, who won in 2079 with 23,491 votes, is a candidate from the National Independent Party (RSWP) this time.

Sah had contested for the provincial assembly seat in 2074 from the Congress in 4 (1) and the mayor of Khadak Municipality in 2079. Sah, who got 11,395 votes for the provincial assembly member, remained the opponent. In 2079, when he contested for the mayor, Sah came in third place with 3,436 votes. This time, Sah, who contested for the House of Representatives member from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), is also in the race to turn the election results in his favor.

Here, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal candidate Dr. Bobby Singh is also trying to attract his voters by visiting every tol. In 2079, the party's candidate Balkishore Yadav got 17,977 votes, so she is also expecting to turn the results in her favor. Singh is also the daughter of former minister and former National Assembly member Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav.

In 2079, Sukdev Prasad Sah of the Janmat Party also got 12,925 votes. This time, Janmat has fielded Jitendra Prasad Sah as its candidate. The candidates include Rubikumari Karna from the Nepali Communist Party, Ganga Prasad Chaudhary from the CPN-UML, Md. Zakir Ali from the Rashtra Nirman Nepal, Ramakant Chaudhary from the Nagarik Unmukti Party Nepal, and Bishokumar Yadav from the Ujjaya Nepal Party.

This area includes 38 wards of 4 local levels including Khadak, Bodebarsain and Surunga municipalities and Balan Bihul rural municipality. Including the then LSP Nepal, which was integrated here, JSP Nepal has won in 13 wards. Looking at the ward-wise votes, JSP Nepal has received 8,752 votes.

The CPN, which was formed by the merger of the then Maoist Center and CPN-S, has won in 10 wards. The CPN has received 6,129 votes here. The Congress has also won in 10 wards. While the Congress received 6,979 votes in the wards, the EML, which won 3 wards, received 1,826 votes.

JSP Nepal received 11,775 votes and adding 719 votes of the then LSP to that, it reaches 12,494 votes.
