The National Independent Party (NISP) has abruptly postponed its election rally scheduled for Saturday in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi. However, Friday's gathering in Dang is continuing.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had held a press conference on Thursday and said that 100,000 people, including leaders and cadres from the 6 districts of the former Lumbini zone, would attend the Parivartan Uddhosh meeting to be held at the exhibition ground in Anchalpur, Bhairahawa on Saturday. The gathering was being prepared for a program in which RSSP President Rabi Lamichhane, senior leader Balendra Shah and RSSP candidates from all 6 districts would address the gathering.

On Friday, RSSP Central Committee Vice President Dol Prasad Aryal informed that the Parivartan Uddhosh program has been postponed, said Gopal Ghimire, a member of the central organization department. The letter sent from the center states that ‘it has been decided to postpone the said program for the time being due to special reasons including organizational priority determination and strategic management.’ ‘There will probably be no big meetings in Bhairahawa,’ Ghimire said, ‘Now we will focus on election meetings and door-to-door campaigns at the local level.’

The RSSP’s election meeting is continuing in Dang on Friday. President Lamichhane and senior leader Shah were scheduled to arrive from Surkhet on Thursday to participate in it. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers who were waiting to welcome both leaders burned a flag with the UML election symbol in Dang on Thursday night. The UML is strongly opposing it from the center to the district. A local leader said that the decision to postpone the meeting was made from the center itself as there was a risk that its impact could be seen in the Rupandehi meeting.

The RSS had scheduled President Lamichhane and senior leader Shah to address the meeting in Dang, Lumbini Province, on Friday. However, senior leader Shah returned to Kathmandu from the Surkhet meeting on Thursday, saying that he was unwell.

There are candidates close to senior leader Shah in 3 constituencies of Rupandehi out of 5 constituencies. Therefore, both Shah and Lamichhane had visited rural areas in this area before. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has stated that the rally was organized in Bhairahawa to convey a collective message along with internal efforts by both leaders to ensure the victory of their candidates, but the rally was postponed at the last minute in an unnatural manner.
