Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has said that 41 laws need to be amended immediately to build road infrastructure.

'We have studied and studied only to build roads on time, and only if at least 41 laws are implemented, can roads be built on time. I heard yesterday that those who do not build roads on time will be 'punished, scolded'. I took someone and scolded him, and the roads will not be built on time,' Thapa said, 'We need to change 41 laws immediately to build roads on time. The parliament made that law so that the same law would work in the past.'

Referring to the statement given by Balendra Shah, who has been declared the future prime ministerial candidate of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Wednesday, he said that road construction will not be completed on time by scolding someone. At a program organized in Dhangadhi, the capital of Sudurpaschim Province, Shah had made the statement that action will be taken against those who do not build roads on time and that they will be built even if it is necessary.'

At the Congress' election manifesto and question-and-answer program on Thursday, Thapa emphasized the need for institutional reforms and legal amendments for road construction. Thapa said that institutional arrangements should be made through policy reforms.
