Ujjaya Nepal Party candidates have supported Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) candidate Bhupdev Shah from Achham-2 in the House of Representatives elections.
Rajesh Rawal was the candidate from Ujjalo Nepal from this constituency. Shah and Rawal of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party reached an agreement on various issues on Sunday.
'In the context of the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21, Achham Constituency No. 2, we announce the following agreement between Rajesh Rawal (candidate of Ujjalo Nepal Party) and Bhupdev Shah (candidate of Rastriya Swatantra Party) to strengthen the politics of democratic values, good governance, transparency and change,' the agreement states, 'Ujjalo Nepal candidate Rajesh Rawal will withdraw his candidacy in favor of change, good governance and people-responsive politics and fully support Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Bhupdev Shah.'
It is said that Shah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh will accept the agenda raised by Rawal of Ujjaya Nepal, including infrastructure development in Achham, employment, adopting a zero tolerance policy against corruption, protecting and promoting agriculture and local products, and taking strong initiatives to provide effective access to the state to serve the people of remote areas.
The memorandum of understanding also mentions that Ujjaya Nepal will campaign in favor of Shah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The memorandum of understanding bears the signatures of Shah and Rawal.
Even if Rawal of Ujjaya Nepal withdraws his candidacy, the election symbol of Ujjaya Nepal will remain on the ballot paper of Achham 2.
