Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that those who do not understand Madhesh cannot lead the country. President Thapa said this while addressing a cadre meeting program organized in Mirchaiya on Tuesday evening.
'I know the pain of the mountains, I also know the happiness of Kathmandu, but those who do not understand Madhesh cannot build a country, and those who do not understand the pain of Madhesh cannot lead a country,' Thapa said, 'That is why I contested the election from Madhesh, I came to immerse myself in Madhesh, I came to belong here.'
Chairman Thapa said that some leaders are making negative comments about the movement of the new generation and others are trying to take advantage of the angry citizens.
'Some are saying that the movement is sponsored without admitting their weaknesses, while others are inciting the angry crowd even more and thinking that this is the time to become the Prime Minister,' he said, 'But, we are not saying that, we take responsibility for our mistakes and weaknesses and fulfill what the movement demands by leading the country.'
President Thapa has also claimed that the main problems of the country are corruption and misgovernance and that he has moved forward after a long period of preparation to solve them.
