Meeting between Prime Minister Karki and UML Chairman Oli

Prime Minister Sushila Karki and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli have met. The two held a meeting at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar, on Thursday morning and talked for about two hours.

Former Prime Minister Oli reached Baluwatar to meet Prime Minister Karki at 9 am on Thursday, the Prime Minister's Secretariat has said. In the meeting with Karki, Oli expressed concern that the security challenges to make the election fearless, free and fair remain. In response, Prime Minister Karki urged people to participate in the election with confidence as 80,000 troops have been deployed since Wednesday for the election and there will be no security lapses now.

UML leader Bishnu Rimal also reached Baluwatar with Oli to meet the Prime Minister.

Oli, who questioned whether the election to be held by the current government would be fair, was also concerned about Prime Minister Karki's statement on postponing the election.

In response, Prime Minister Karki said that a second phase would be held if there was snowfall in the Himalayan districts.

Earlier, Prime Minister Karki and UML Chairman Oli had met on 24 Poush.
