The Election Commission has asked Balendra Shah (Balen), the candidate for Jhapa-5 from the National Independent Party (NISP), for an explanation for the second time.

The Commission has stated that it has sought clarification for the second time after receiving audio-visual material showing plainclothes police officers asking for votes from Balen. What happened to Shah's wife during his election campaign? The Commission has sought clarification. The Commission has sought a response from Shah within three days.

The Election Commission has sought clarification from nine more people who violated the election code of conduct. As of Saturday, the Commission had sought 21 clarifications, and nine more clarifications were sought on Sunday and Monday.

According to the Commission's Assistant Spokesperson Kul Bahadur GC, Hemraj Thapa, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) in Bajura, has been asked for an explanation after a complaint was received that Hemraj Thapa, targeting Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya, came to the Chief Minister's Office and used insulting and threatening language, as well as posting it on social media, in connection with the Martadi-Kolti road construction project contracted by PS Baniya JV.

Did you make insulting, threatening and abusive statements about Bagmati Province Chief Minister Baniya or not? Did you follow the provisions of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, as mentioned in the complaint? He said that the candidate Thapa was asked for an explanation.

Spokesperson GC said that a response has been sought from Bajura candidate Thapa within three days as per Section 21, Clause (f), Sub-Section (1) of Section 25 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082. The Commission has written to the Press Council Nepal for action against various individuals and media outlets that publish and broadcast misleading and unfounded messages targeting election candidates.

The Nepali Communist Party has sought an explanation for the fact that the election symbol of the House of Representatives member Sindhupalchowk District Constituency No. 1 was painted outside the election office.

What happened in the behavior mentioned in the complaint? If it is proven that the party's election symbol was displayed in a manner contrary to the provisions of the code of conduct, why should the district working committee of that party not be taken action under the prevailing election law? The commission has also sought clarification from Madhav Sapkot, a candidate from the same constituency, regarding the same issue.

Similarly, the commission has also sought clarification from Rudra Giri, Mangal Praja and Ashok Tamani. Spokesperson GC said that out of the 29 clarifications sought by the commission so far, 14 have been answered.
