Voting is underway in the ongoing elections for the National Assembly. According to Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, voting is underway in the provincial headquarters.

Article 86 (3) of the Constitution states that elections should be held 35 days before the vacancy occurs for a seat that falls vacant after the term of a member of the National Assembly expires. There is a provision for electing a new member from the voters of the province from which the seat is about to fall vacant. Voting is ongoing in the provincial capital. 

In Lumbini Province
For Provincial Assembly members: 18 women and 31 men. Total 49
For local level members: 27 women and 52 men. Total 79

In Bagmati Province
For Provincial Assembly members: 24 women and 37 men  . Total 61
For local level members: 60 women and 116 men.  Total 237

Lumbini Province
For Provincial Assembly members: 20 women and 32 men. Total 52
For local level members: 41 women and 68 men. Total 109

Gandaki Province
Towards the province: 44
Towards the local level: 136

Koshi Province
