The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has expelled leaders who had filed 'rebel' candidacies for the upcoming House of Representatives.

They were expelled as part of disciplinary action under Article 106 of the party statute, according to a statement issued by coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal and co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Those expelled include Haribol Gajurel (Sindhuli), Maheshwor Dahal (Sindhuli), Kul Prasad KC (Dang), Major Rai (Udaypur), Dharmanath Sah (Sirha), Rajkumari Sah (Sirha), and Jivachh Sah (Sirha).

It is mentioned that in the election to be held on 21 Falgun, the candidates who were the official candidates from the NCP in the constituency against the party's decision and instructions, and their proposers, supporters and campaigners, have also been taken action.

The Gajurel faction rebelled after the NCP made former MP Lekhnath Dahal the official candidate in Sindhuli-2. Maheshwor Dahal has been fielded as a rebel candidate in that constituency.

Similarly, Kul Prasad KC has filed a rebel candidacy in Dang-1. KC, who is also a former Chief Minister, has filed a rebellion against NCP candidate Metmani Chaudhary.

After not getting a ticket from NCP, Dharmanath Sah has filed a candidacy from UML in Siraha-4. Similarly, Major Rai has filed an independent candidacy in Udayapur-2, saying that the party has not given him a ticket.
