Resham Chaudhary, the patron of the Citizens' Liberation Party Nepal, who is a candidate for the House of Representatives election, has submitted an explanation.

On Thursday, Chaudhary reached the office of the Election Officer in Kailali Constituency No. 1 and submitted a clarification. A complaint was filed against him on Wednesday. The complaint has demanded that his candidacy be cancelled as he is ineligible.

Stating that he received amnesty on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, he has claimed that he is eligible to be a candidate. 'The legal provision that states that a person who has been sentenced to life imprisonment for any offence and is disqualified from being a candidate for the election, if such a decision is final, as per Section 16 of the Election Directive for Members of the House of Representatives, 2082, (d) below, will not be applicable in my case,' he said.
