They presented their respective agendas during the nomination process. Some said they had filed their candidacies to emphasize production, while others responded that they had filed their candidacies to address the problems of the landless.
Deep Bahadur Shahi, who is also the former president of the Congress Jumla, said that he would not deceive the people by false propaganda. He said, "I am a landless person. I am the son of a landless person." I have filed my candidacy to listen to and address the problems of the people.'
CPN-Maoist candidate Birkha Bahadur Shahi said that his candidacy is to carry out an agricultural revolution and fight against injustice. He said that he has filed his candidacy to expand apple farming and make Jumla self-reliant and to change the capitalist system to a socialist system.
NEMKIPA's Birkha Bahadur Rawat said that he has filed his candidacy to move forward with his own plan, not to be hasty like the new candidates. He expressed confidence that the people will believe him in this election because he fought on the demand that education and health should be free for the people. 'When the country is in crisis, we are the ones who will come to the streets. We have no other interests except the country,' he added.
Hima voters are confused as three people from the same municipality have filed their candidacies for the post of member of the House of Representatives. "All three of them are from their own municipality," said a local, "Now we are forced to divide into three parts." There are nearly 6,000 voters in this municipality.
