A hearing has been scheduled for the special court, chaired by Sudarshan Dev Bhatta and Judge Hemant Rawal, to hear corruption cases involving Nepal.
A hearing has been scheduled for the corruption case related to the land embezzlement of Patanjali Yogpeeth and Ayurveda Company Nepal, in which NCP leader Madhav Kumar Nepal is a defendant. The hearing has been scheduled before the bench of Special Court Chairman Sudarshan Dev Bhatta and Judge Hemant Rawal for hearing the corruption case involving Nepal.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case in the Special Court on Jestha 22, making 93 people, including Nepal, defendants in the Patanjali land case. The CIAA has demanded a fine and punishment of Rs 185.85 million against Nepal. The CIAA claims that Nepal, as the then Prime Minister, misused his position and transferred government public property for personal and institutional interests and was involved in corrupt activities.
The then Nepal-led Council of Ministers had approved Patanjali to transact land in excess of the limit in a meeting on Falgun 2066. The charge sheet claims that Nepal had ordered Patanjali to sell and exchange land in excess of the limit in a direct order on Magh 18, 2066.
The CIAA had filed a case against 93 people on charges of illegally selling and embezzling 314 ropanis 15 anas 2 paisa 1 daam of land and committing corruption.
