Despite the demand for change following the Gen-G movement and the division into two camps prior to the registration of candidacies, the Nepali Congress has continued to field its old candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives elections in Parsa.

Congress has given tickets to Anil Kumar Rungta from Constituency No. 1, Ajay Kumar Chaurasia from Constituency No. 2, Surendra Chaudhary from Constituency No. 3 and Ramesh Rijal from Constituency No. 4 this time too. The youngest of these four, Anil Kumar Rungta, is 57 years old. All the others are above 60 years old. Rijal is 69 years old.

Anil Rungta, who had previously succeeded in becoming a member of the Constituent Assembly through proportional representation, entered the election fray directly for the first time in the previous House of Representatives election. He was defeated by the then JSP candidate Pradeep Yadav. Rungta has got a ticket from Congress for the second time in a row.

Chaurasia, Chaudhary and Rijal have filed their candidacies in almost all the previous parliamentary elections. Chaurasia entered the Nepali Congress through the Sadbhavana Party. Chaudhary and Rijal have been getting tickets in all the parliamentary elections since 2048. Chaurasia and Rijal were also members of the dissolved House of Representatives.

After the Gen-G movement, it was expected that the Nepali Congress would change candidates from some constituencies in the district, but that has proven to be wrong.
