UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives. He has filed his candidacy from Jhapa-5.

Oli registered his nomination on Tuesday after reaching the office of the election officer. 

Balendra Shah has registered his candidacy from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Jhapa-5. Ranjit Tamang of the NCP is also in the election contest from this constituency.
