Former Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Kul Prasad KC has filed his candidacy as an independent candidate from this constituency. The Nepali Communist Party leader KC filed his candidacy as an independent candidate after not getting a ticket from the party.
Former ministers, former provincial chief ministers, and lawmakers have become the main contenders for the House of Representatives seat in Dang Constituency No. 1.
Joint General Secretary Yogendra Chaudhary has registered his candidacy from the Congress. Chaudhary had become a member of the Constituent Assembly on the proportional representation side from the then Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Loktantrik led by Vijay Kumar Gachhadar. Chaudhary, who was close to Sher Bahadur Deuba after joining the Congress, recently became a joint general secretary by participating in the special general convention led by Gagan Thapa.
Accounts Commission member Rewatiraman Sharma has registered his candidacy from the UML. Sharma was elected as a member of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly from Dang Constituency No. 1 (2) in 2074 with 19,354 votes. He was the district secretary of the UML from 2059 to 2062 BS.
Metmani Chaudhary has registered his candidacy from the Nepali Communist Party. In the 2079 BS election, Chaudhary was a candidate from an alliance including the Congress and the Maoist Center and won by securing 26,576 votes. In 2074, he was elected from the same constituency from the then UML by getting 37,908 votes. After the UML split, he joined the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN (Unified Socialist) and became the Urban Development Minister.
Devraj Pathak has registered his candidacy from the National Independent Party. He ran for the RSVP in Constituency No. 1 in the 2079 election and received 13,798 votes.
Similarly, former Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Kul Prasad KC has filed his candidacy from this constituency. Nepali Communist Party leader KC filed his candidacy after not getting a ticket from the party. KC was the Chief Minister from 28th July 2078 to 27th December 2079.
Similarly, Ganesh Prasad Acharya from the National Janamorcha, Prakash Shahi from the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), Binay VC from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Khum Bahadur Gaha Magar from the Mongol National Organization, Min Bahadur Thedi Magar from the National Republican Nepal, and Navin Kumar Shahi from the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party have registered their candidacies.
