Thakur Gaire has registered his candidacy from UML in Palpa-2 for the House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21. Gaire, who received the tick only on Tuesday, registered his candidacy some time ago.
On the same day of nomination, UML nominated Gaire as its candidate in Palpa constituency number 2. According to UML Palpa chairman Om Bahadur Gharti, the ticket was finalized in the name of UML central member Gaire only on Tuesday morning.
By Tuesday morning, Ram Bahadur Raut's ticket was finalized in Palpa constituency number 2. Gaire's ticket was finalized when Raut was busy preparing for the candidate registration.
Before Raut's ticket, UML Vice President Bishnu Prasad Poudel's name was announced with a ticket for Palpa constituency number 2 from Rupandehi constituency number 2. Poudel has returned to Rupandehi-2. Gaire, who finally got the ticket, was the secretary candidate from the Ishwor Pokharel group in the UML 11th general convention.
Earlier, in the 2079 elections, Gaire had defeated CPN-S candidate Som Prasad Pandey. Pandey is also running as a candidate from the CPN this time.
