RPP Senior Vice President Rabindra Mishra has filed his candidacy from Kathmandu-1. Mishra's nominee is Purushottam Prasad Dhungel and his supporter is Binod Thapa.
Mishra had previously been a candidate from Kathmandu-1 twice but had not been able to win. In 2079 BS, he was defeated by Congress leader Prakash Man Singh by a narrow margin. He lost to Singh by a margin of only 125 votes.
Similarly, in 2074 BS, Mishra was a candidate from the Bibeksheel Sajha Party. At that time, he was defeated by Singh by 818 votes.
