UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has inspected the area police office and Damak municipality area where arson and looting occurred during the protests on Tuesday.

Chairman Oli, who arrived in Damak on Monday to nominate his candidacy in Jhapa-5, said that violent activities have taken place in the name of protest.

While observing the condition of the Area Police Office damaged due to arson, Chairman Oli pointed out the need to make the security mechanism more efficient. Stating that the responsibility for peace and security lies with the state, he urged to identify the people involved in the incident and take swift action.
