He filed his nomination on Tuesday, according to the office of the returning officer .
While other ministers resigned to contest the election through their parties, Pun resigned to launch his own campaign .
Before resigning, Pun donated the national and international medals he received to the government . Pun made the information that he donated the medals to the government public on social media on Tuesday. He wrote, 'All the international and national medals I received were donated to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Government of Nepal, through the Secretary. .'
Pun says that he donated the medals to the government after no one bought them even though he wanted to sell them.
