Former Nepali Congress president Nayan Singh Mahar is set to contest the election for the House of Representatives from Dadeldhura on behalf of the Nepali Congress.

Mahar got the ticket from the Congress after former President Sher Bahadur Deuba announced that he would not contest the election. 

The distribution of Congress tickets has not been finalized yet. The meeting of the parliamentary board is still ongoing.
