NCP coordinator and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the party's headquarters will now be in Rukum. He said that he is running from Rukum East not only to become an MP but also to launch a national campaign addressing the spirit of 'people's war'.
‘We need to make the Nepali Communist Party victorious this time to respect the great history and decision. We have made some appeals while going across the country. Here too, I am standing before you with pride as a candidate from Rolpa. I started from Rolpa first in Chausatti,’ he said, ‘Now in Rukum in 2082. This is history. A new record has been made and the country will see a new campaign from Rukum. Wherever I go now, the party headquarters will be there. Now that I come to Rukum, Rukum will be the headquarters.’
He said that he participated in the election for the first time from Rolpa and Kathmandu in 2064 and that Rukum may be his last. ‘Starting from Rolpa, this may also be my last direct election in Rukum. This has become a record in itself. Starting from Rolpa, established as a central base area, and coming to Rukum, established as a central base area, and filing my candidacy has become a matter of pride for me,' he said, 'The Chunbang meeting is fresh in my mind. The meeting that ended the nearly 250-year-old monarchy in Nepal and opened the door to a federal democratic republic in the country is in Rukum East .'
He said that he did not come to Rukum East just for an MP post, but to fulfill the dreams of the martyrs and missing and injured .
'I did not come for an MP post . I would like to sincerely request all of you. I have felt that those great heroic deeds of history, those dreams of revolution, the dreams of martyrs, and the dreams of missing warriors have become a little blurred in the meantime,' he said .
